How ECR Works
ECR is almost here and among the parties, side events and special treats, the main championship is still in the spotlight with the grand prize of €50,000. So, how will the European Championship of Roulette work?
The Main Event will be played over two days. On Friday 6th April, or Day 1, all players are split into four Heats starting at 17:00. Each Heat is one and a half hours long with a 30-minute break. You will be told your Heat timing and your table numbers when you register at the onsite Casino Registration. It is important for players to be on time for the Heats, so it should be encouraged to register at the Casino during the day to avoid any queues.
At the start of your Heat you will get a stack of 500 chips. All contestants start with the same amount of chips and all contestants are required to place the minimum bet with every spin. Every five spins this minimum bet increases. This keeps going until you’ve played 30 spins and the Heat is over. Any players who still have chips advance to Day 2.
Since every player has to play (or pay) the minimum bet for each round, that also counts for anyone who is late to their Heat. If a player isn’t at the table at the start of the tournament his or her stack will have the minimum bet removed for each spin they are not present.
The second day runs the same way as the first day, with all the players who advanced from Day 1 using the chips they advanced with. The minimum bet continues to increase every five spins, until there are only seven players left.
Once there are only seven players left we move on to the Final, where each of the seven players compete for the grand prize and a share of the guaranteed €200,000*.
*Prize pool is indicative and based on a €200,000 guarantee. Should more than 400 players enter, the prize pool will differ.
